The BIOS release date on this machine is:
  Release Date: 07/15/97

which means ACPI isn't off because of the year 2000 cut-off. ACPI
apparently actually works on this machine; please force it to be used
based on:

   System Information
	Manufacturer: NETWORK
	Product Name: 1AAJG

** Changed in: acpi-support (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: acpi-support => linux-source-2.6.15
       Status: Unconfirmed => Confirmed

** Summary changed:

- Regression: Flight7 doesn't use ACPI anymore on my Gericom laptop and APM is broken
+ Regression: Laptop requires ACPI forcing on because of pre-2000 cut-off

** Summary changed:

- Regression: Laptop requires ACPI forcing on because of pre-2000 cut-off
+ Regression: Gericom/"NETWORK" Laptop requires ACPI forcing on because of pre-2000 cut-off
