Which would make sense as my iMac has a similar memory arrangement
(32MByte Dimm and 128MByte Dimm).

Most recent 2.6.15.7 (from kernel.org) does not have this patch.

Unfortunately I don't have the facilities to compile a PPC kernel.... Can someone push this in the direction of someone who does!!!
