Yes, it still fails for me as well (on iMac 266MHz/160MBytes)

The daily iso I downloaded (May 18) was missing the whole directory
'/install/powerpc'.

So I have used the netboot (May 23)    from:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper/main/installer-powerpc/current/images/powerpc/netboot/

Displays 'Ramdisk' message, screen goes black and the white with the
same failure = 'Can't allocate device-tree chunk'

I agree with previous poster, it would be ''bad' if this could not be
resolved before Dapper was released.
