Apparently, this is caused by the BIOS thinking you have 1MB of Video
RAM. I have this particular chip on a Dell Dimension 4600, and just
setting the value in the BIOS to 8 MB fixes this. I read on the forums
that editing the "Device" section of your xorg.conf file and adding:
Option "VideoRam" "8192k" (some people also seemed to have luck with
adding the VertRefresh and HorizSync parameters to the "Monitor"
section, though it seems that the VideoRam part is the most important).
I haven't confirmed this last, but the BIOS change does work (if the
xorg.conf fix works, the way to easily fix this would be to add that
option whenever the i810 driver is used).
