Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33650
Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
If I enable WPA TKIP using wpa_supplicant the machine get associated
with the access point. However, for each DHCP request a message is
written in /var/log/kern.log.
If I try to associate the card with an open access point, it doesn't
have any problem to negotiate also an IP address using DHCP.
If I set manually the IP, gateway and DNS it works fine (using WPA).
The relevant part of the kern.log is the following:
Mar 4 00:06:09 localhost kernel: [4294682.239000] ipw2200: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200/2915 Network Driver, 1.0.10
Mar 4 00:06:09 localhost kernel: [4294682.239000] ipw2200: Copyright(c) 2003-2005 Intel Corporation
Mar 4 00:06:09 localhost kernel: [4294682.239000] ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection
Mar 4 00:07:21 localhost kernel: [4294764.825000] ipw2200: Unknown notification: subtype=40,flags=0xa0,size=40
The last line is written by each DHCP request, according as I saw using
ethereal.
kernel 2.6.15-17-686, recently updated.
dhclient 3.0.3-6ubuntu6, wpasupplicant 0.4.7-0ubuntu4.
Ubuntu Dapper updated ten minutes ago.
