I don't have the bandwidth to fix it myself, but here's the patch.  It
only touches the nm256 driver so should be trivial to apply.

Also why was the OSS driver removed from Dapper?  AFAIK it was only
removed from the kernel after we had confirmation that the ALSA driver
was fixed.
