Pretty sure this is a local issue on your system, but do this for me:

Attach your .config. Then edit drivers/net/wireless/rt2600/Makefile, and
add this line at the top:

EXTRA_CFLAGS=-save-temps

Run this command:

make drivers/net/wireless/rt2600/

When the error occurs, there should be a file called mlme.s, attach that
file as well.
