Summary: Dapper : looping while booting (detecting hardware) on
                    recent motherboard
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: manu.cornet at gmail.com
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

I have a quite recent motherboard : Asus A8N-VM CSM, it has a nVidia nForce 430
southbridge.

I installed Dapper with the "flight 2" CD and it went okay. I didn't get the
chance to install nVidia proprietary drivers for video/sound/southbridge. But I
dist-upgraded to the newest (January 11th) dapper packages, including kernel.

The boot process loops on the "Detecting and activating hardware" step. Expert
mode shows that it loops on "azx_get_response timeout", printing this line ad
lib and never stopping.
