Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/31557
Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
Yesterday, I upgraded my Breezy system (which used to work perfectly) to
Dapper. With the 2.6.15 kernel (-686 or -k7) the system hangs at boot
while loading hardware drivers:

I tried to do a full reinstall with the daily build (15 feb), but that
fails also. The installer hangs while detecting network hardware.
So I guess there's some problem with that sis900 module.
In both cases, the system totally hangs. ALT-CTRL-DEL or ALT-SysRq don't
do anything and I have to hard reset the computer.
The system is an Athlon "1200+" with an ECS cheapo motherboard. The NIC is on board.

(There is a TV-card in the system, I already tried to remove that to
avoid IRQ conflicts, but that doesn't help.)
