[Bug 42210] Dapper hangs at boot, when starting X with Radeon 9250

Description:
When Dapper boots, the machine freezes completely when starting X (I
don't have a second machine to ping from, but the ATX power button
doesn't initiate a shutdown, like it does with other X hangs). If I
disable X.org's dri extension, the hang disappears.

This problem seems to be related with Dapper's 2.6.15. Booting with
2.6.12 from Breezy works just fine, even with dri enabled. I compiled
and installed a vanilla 2.6.17-rc3 from kernel.org, and that one works
fine, too.

I have a HIS Radeon 9250 (256MB VRAM, 128bit interface) on an Asus
A7V133. There were no X or kernel log entries about anything wrong (I
remounted the partition with the sync option, to be sure). The Alt-SysRq
combinations also didn't produce any log entries, I had to hard-reset
the machine. This is 100% reproducible, it happens every single time X
starts.
