Except I restart the interface with "ifup"; your iwconfig rate workaround does not work for me.

I also have to restart /etc/init.d/pbbuttonsd because my "notap" touchpad preference is forgotten during suspend. And the gnome batter-status indicator displays a "suspend failed" message even though the suspend did not fail, for some reason. These two latter bugs are probably connected.
