Summary: plugging a second firewire device reinitializes the
first
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: linux
AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: tjaalton+ubuntu at cc.hut.fi
QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
I have an external hd that is connected with firewire (ieee1394), and it is
mounted "statically" (from fstab). If I plug a dv-camera, the hd is reconnected
and it gets another device name (/dev/sdb -> /dev/sd?). This is quite annoying,
although I _could_ use the hd via USB2.
I'm using breezy, but I can test Flight-2 soon.
