I don't have any interfaces enabled at boot and so far wireless has never hung
when started from a terminal. It hangs anywhere from 5 mins to 5 hours after
eth1 (my wireless interface) is started. When wireless does hang all the
screens are blank when I use CTRL ATL Fx. If I happen to have gnome-terminal
open then I can do anything from that terminal except interact with ipw2200.
For example rmmod ipw2200 causes gnome-terminal to hang although lsmod does not.
I will try the ALT-SysRQ + 1 / ALT SysRq + t on the next hang. I'm posting
this while using wireless so a hang is inevitable. BTW it is very nice to have
WPA-PSK working out of the box under Ubuntu. Just need to get this hang under
control.
