Having upgraded to 2.6.12-7, and adding the acpi_sleep=s3_bios and pci=noacpi
lines to grub, the problems are even worse. The Fn+F4 key combination that
should trigger suspend now blanks the screen, and after a few seconds, brings up
the screensaver password dialog. The suspend option causes the machine to act
like it failed to wake up from suspend, without ever suspending. The screen
blanks, and the disk/fans are still spun up, but the screen never comes back,
and the machine has to be forcibly powered off.
