>From my searching on this bug, it seems that disabling spread spectrum in the
BIOS is the real answer. Even the NTP site says to disable it (and gives a nice
explanation of what spread spectrum is and why it breaks sane timing).

We're about to upload a new kernel, which has a lot of acpi updates. I'm
inclined to think that this wont fix the problem. In which case, I think the bug
should be closed simply because of the fact that spread spectrum is just buggy
by nature, and we can't really fix it any.
