Ahh okay, I was trying to stick with the latest LTS release for support
purposes, but by the sounds of things a lot of the action here is in the
very latest releases.
Are there plans to backport this or would we be better served testing
against 13.10?

Indeed. Right now my big hurdle is getting to understand how it's all
working ... demystifying the "magic". I don't mind magic for
entertainment, but I don't like it much in systems I support. It's fine
when it works but if things break, one must know enough about its guts
to know how to debug it and fix it.
Thus I'll probably be picking it apart to figure out how it works and
asking some (probably very) stupid questions. :-)
