This might take a full card to fix up. Categories have always been
implemented as a search done to the back end. To dress it up as its own
view will be some new work.

As for the bug with the categories/searches stacking onto each other vs
being distinct I'll work on that today. Fixing this will break the old
filters code, but that needs to go away anyway.
