I'm assuming that at least in theory, these things will start working at 
some point.  Support for daily images is coming to the Azure provider, 
and at that point, isn't the incompatibility in product IDs the next 
thing holding us back?

We're about to rotate off the project, and the closer this is to a 
testable state when we leave it the happier we will be.  All we can do 
right now is manually specify an image; selecting one through 
simplestreams simply finds no matches.  Even if the image doesn't 
actually work yet, it'd be a step forwards for us to see one being 
selected in a real-world scenario.
