Yes, the install was bootable. The message about the crash was on the
screen but I could see the progress bar and messages in the installer
still updating. I left the error message on the screen until I was sure
that the install had stopped writing to disk before clicking the button.
I reinstalled again and it didnt crash the next time.

I was installing Cosmic today from the official download and the
installer crashed.
I installed it dozens of times last week and there were no crashes.
Using Virtualbox, with 1.7GB RAM.
