/dev/sda is partitioned using GPT. To install grub there, you must
create a 1 mb bios_grub partition. The other option is to choose to
install grub to /dev/sdb and make sure your bios is set to boot from
that drive.

** Changed in: grub-installer (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
  Failed during clean installation of ubuntu 16.04 when trying to
  install the bootloader

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Error message appears saying installation failed because it couldn't
  install the bootloader on /dev/sda (I was installing ubuntu on
  /dev/sdb)

  Offers the option to try a different disk, continue without
  bootloader, or cancel installation.
