Then it is being read wrong in the target machine. Another thing you
might try is running the memtest option from the boot menu and let it go
for at least 15 minutes and see if it finds any errors.

Bug description:
I'm installing Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 using a live DVD. I have attemped to
install it using two different usb sticks as well, with similar
results. I have also re-downloaded the ISO, in case it was damaged
somehow.
The installer gets to roughly the part where it starts to actually
install the OS (after asking for username, password, etc.), then the
popup appears, saying that there's an IO error.
