Public bug reported:

I haven't upgraded my system for a long time from Ubuntu 11.04 and
finally wanted to upgrade to the lastest version, meanwhile my current
version seems EOL version as far as I read. So I tried to upgrade to the
next version first.

I got the error due to internet connection eventhough my internet is
working fine. I ended up in changing the term frrom "archieve.ubuntu" to
"old-version-releases.ubuntu", then was able to proceed to the next step
with some other problem, then also I tried again to upgrade, I was asked
about unabling third party files and I could re-enable them after the
upgrade, and then, I was warned that I dont have some repository files
(sort of, dont remember the exact term there..) and if I click Yes, I
will get upgraded to the next version and if No, will be in the same
version. I clicked Yes, then while the system is working, due to heating
of the battery, the system got switched off. Since then I am having this
issue of held/broken/lost packages and series of errors.

This is the statement I got while trying to upgrade from Ubuntu 11.04 to
the next upgrade.

Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:
'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'

Also getting the other error:

Could not download all repository indexes

The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted
because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed
index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your
network connection and ensure the repository address in the preferences
is correct.

Other issue is:

Failed to fetch

Fetching the upgrade failed. There may be a network problem.

Please help me fix these issues and upgrade to the latest version.

I also have question about the sourcelist, in some places I have oneric
and other places natty, is that correct?
