  PPC - ubiquity fails partway through installation

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  The installer gets through to the stage where the username and
  password are entered.  Then after leaving that dialog, the whole
  window disappears and the mouse cursor is left spinning and spinning.
  It does not come back and the installation cannot be completed.
