[Bug 1294813] [NEW] PPC - ubiquity fails partway through installation

Public bug reported:

The installer gets through to the stage where the username and password
are entered.  Then after leaving that dialog, the whole window
disappears and the mouse cursor is left spinning and spinning.  It does
not come back and the installation cannot be completed.
