[Bug 1289988] Re: add support for Discoverable Partitions Spec

What announcement? Ubuntu is not migrating to systemd. This spec is
also silly as it precludes having multiple operating systems installed
on a disk, and the use of lvm and mdraid.

Title:
add support for Discoverable Partitions Spec

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
With the announced migration to systemd it might make sense to start
supporting it's features early. Especially when it comes to such a
  long-term items as disk partitions.

  The spec
  http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/DiscoverablePartitionsSpec/
describes discoverable partitions. Would be good if ubiquity both put
appropriate GUIDs on partitions and use them as hints during manual
  partitioning.
