Dimitri no menu. i tried several options to set the kernel images and boot from that with no success.
I'm able to boot with Ultimate Boot CD and choosing GRUB2 Manager!

psusi i've reinstalled it from the current OS . the single partition is
/dev/sda1 (there's sda2 for swap)

I remember running probe and have it complain XFS was not supported.

I can test tomorrow with the latest kernel and an older one, again.

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  until the past week, 14.04 was working fine on this system, with a single partition (for /(root) /boot & /home) mounted on XFS.
  since then, it broke, and GRUB cant boot from it anymore!

  I tried to reinstall grub, run grub-install, with no sucess
