I started the installer by booting into it. Then I searched for options
for screen resolution on the welcome page, but could not find any.

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  In the installer for kubuntu 14.04 alpha 1, I can not change the
  screen resolution. This is a problem when installing in a virtual
  machine, and the installer chooses a resolution that is bigger than or
  the same size as the real screen, and I would like to run the VM in a
  non-maximized window.
