Title:
  ubiquity can't find partitions

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

  I tried installing from the Jaunty alpha 5 desktop amd64 CD, and
  ubiquity couldn't see any partitions. (This was with the 'try Ubuntu'
  option; subsequently I installed via the 'install Ubuntu' boot option
  and it found the partitions and installed successfully.)

  The only thing I did differently from normal was that I had an SD card
  in the mmcblk reader. Ubiquity wanted to install to this device in
  preference to /dev/sda, but reported that there were no operating
  systems anywhere on the computer. I tried going back in the installer
  and removing the card so as to re-run the partitioner, but this time
  it found nothing at all (see attached screenshot).

  Pressing 'forward' didn't work as it told me I had to set up a root
  partition, but since it had found no partitions I couldn't set one up.
