Furthermore, it looks like you have a mix of quantal and precise
versions on your system above, which would certainly explain all the
version mismatch complaints.

Bug description:
  I've been having this issue with 12.04 AMD64 and it breaks a lot of
  multilib support, a quick search of the Ubuntu forums shows this
  issues has cropped up on a number of machines in the past weeks:

  The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libc6-dev-amd64:i386 : Depends: libc6-amd64:i386 (= 2.15-0ubuntu10.4) but it is not going to be installed
  Recommends: gcc-multilib:i386 but it is not going to be installed
  E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
