Public bug reported:

I downloaded the 1754 files for the update from ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04
and had to go offline for the rest of the installation process. When my
machine rebooted i got the following on the terminal.

mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on /root failed: Invalid argument
mount: mounting /dev on /root/dev failed: No such file or directory
mount: mounting /sys on /root/sys failed: No such file or directory
mount: mounting /proc on /root/proc failed: No such file or directory
Target filesystem doesn't have requested /sbin/init.
No init found. Try passint init= bootarg

BusyBox v1.21.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.21.0-1ubuntu1) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in command.

(initramfs)

I tried diffenrent tings including / with this result:
/bin/sh: /: Permission denied

I certaintly hope you can help me because my EliteBook 8440p is out of service.
