[Bug 1353373] [NEW] 14.04.1 preseed netinstall - progress is missing most of the time

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When installing using a combination of iPXE (http enabled)+14.04 LTS
preseed on vmware 5.0.0 the progress when fetching packages is not
shown, a purple screen is shown instead until the installation reaches
"Installing base system".

The introduction of this bug seems to correlate with 14.04.1release
date.

The installation completes successfully, but the missing progress
indicator might lead others to think that the installation has stalled.
