Wasn't ubuntu supposed to have upgraded grub automatically during
upgrade? Why would it not upgrade grub when it is running 13.04?

  In xubuntu 12.10 rc, the updated grub boot menu no longer shows what
  kernel version it is booting into for the first entry.
