[Bug 115426] Re: Computer name is not recognized by DHCP of FRITZ!Box

As it seems its a bug in "multid" on the fritzbox. Ubuntu is sending the
rfc-standard informations to the fritzbox but the fritzbox itself is not
able to handle that correctly. not all fritzboxes are affected some are
using other versions of multid. multid is optimized for windows (which
is using non standard stuff in this case)

So i think this bug should be closed because a patch should not change a
standard-protocoll to something else by default just because the
fritzbox is not able to handle standard-request correctly.

Title:
Computer name is not recognized by DHCP of FRITZ!Box

Status in “isc-dhcp” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I have a FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170, Firmware-Version 29.04.29 DSL router
  at home.

Computer name is not registered when booting Ubuntu (up-to-date 7.04).
  It works correctly on Windows.

Looks like DHCP server on FRITZ!Box doesn't receive correct hostname.
It doesn't matter if I use cable or WLAN.
