Title:
Lubuntu full disk encryption password quality check on installation is
  confused by (

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Installing from lubuntu-12.10-desktop-i386.iso in VirtualBox, select
Encrypt the new Ubuntu Installation... When entering the security key
is requested, and as one types it a quality indicator appears to the
  right of the input box

Adding an open bracket to a strong password, however, seems to confuse
  the quality checker, for instance:

  Entered Displayed
  abcab weak
  abcab1 fair
  abcab12 good
  abcab12#$ strong
  abcab12#$( short

Furthermore, after using the final password, I am not able to mount
the installation, as it complains of a bad passphrase.
