Title:
Encryption password detected as "short" if longer than 10 characters

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When making a new 12.10 Desktop AMD 64 installation, I enabled LVM and
full disk encryption. When I entered a complex password, containing
many characters, numbers and letters, at first the system told me the
password was strong, but upon entering the 11th character, the
indicator turned red, and started warning about "short password".

Marking as security, as may have to do with encryption password
infrastructure, or at least encourage people to use shorter passwords
  needlessly.
