No. Actually there's no new version available now because I have Xubuntu
12.10.

The fact that there wasn't a notification icon for the new version (only
when there was updated packages available, and it didn't inform of the
new system version, unless I actually open the update manager) doesn't
mean I didn't upgrade to the new version.

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  When there's availables updates of packages, Xubuntu shows an icon on
  the panel that notify that, and allow you to install the updates,
  check updates or open the update manager. But, when there's a new
  version of Xubuntu there's no icon that notify that, nor the regular
  icon with a new option to update the system. To see if there's
  available a new version of the system you have to open the update
  manager to see it, but if you update your packages just clicking on
  "install updates" in the icon, you never know that there's a new
  version of the system (unless you check news about Linux and stuff
  like that).
