[Bug 902431] [NEW] in synaptic setting->repositories fails to open its dialog if software-properties-gtk is installed

This is similar to bug 292691,  but the difference is that synaptic works if software-properties-gtk is uninstalled.  I'm not the only one with this problem since it was discussed here:
