Bug description:
  sorry I didn't catch exactly which package did this during the 11.10 -> 12.04 update process... it was asking for a command line with a few services, ntp and others.
  Other apps cause popups in X, but this one stayed in the terminal and since that pane in the update-manager was not expanded it remained invisible until I investigated why it wasn't progressing, and clicked on the > to see the terminal window.
