  whoopsie crashed with SIGSEGV in g_object_newv() after major updating
  that appears to replace amd64 specific components with generics

Bug description:
  Many components updated.  Several components could not find the
  updates automatically, but refreshing the cache in update manager then
  allowed the update to proceed.  After reboot I attempted to start the
  amd64 Skype (which appears to be running).
