Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect 122130 and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

Title:
[Dapper] Segfault in Samba
Status in “samba” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: samba
The machine is AMD64 running Ubuntu 6.06 LTS. It's configured as a
domain member in our Windows Active Directory Domain. It's configured
as a print server. It's using CUPS as it's printer backend. The
backtrace from the samba panic action script appears to be printer
related. The printer mentioned in the backtrace (lrcpr01) is a Lanier
5518 Photocopier. It natively supports Postscript and this is how
Windows clients and CUPS transfer print jobs to it.
The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for pid 24902 (/usr/sbin/smbd).
Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows
the state of the program at the time the error occurred.
If the problem persists, you are encouraged to first install the
samba-dbg package which contains the debugging symbols for samba
binaries. Then, submit the provided information as a bug report to Ubuntu.
