I think a clean install would be the thing to do, partly because I can't afford to deal with an unstable system.
My last question is, then, can I do a fresh install of the 11.10 (or, wait until the next month and go for the 12.04) directly, or do I have to install first the 11.04 an d then do the upgrade thing ?
Anyway many, many, many thanks for your time & help ! It was greatly appreciated !

Title:
Update from 11.04 to 11.10 fails with pkgProblemResolver
Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
The update from 11.04 to 11.10 does not succeed, searched for similar bugs, they were due to a nvidia xorg package (nouveau), but I don't have it. The logs are enclosed, I guess it is due to a given package, but I can't find it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Y.
