ojordan, I tried this also on AMD64 and while it does not create
duplicate Apple Boot partitions, it consistently makes extra swap
partitions. I guess in the grand scheme of things this is not too major
since one is rather unlikely to resize more than once.

Title:
Installation creates duplicate Apple Boot and swap partitions

Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The PowerPC Alternate image from 2012-03-01
  (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/daily/current/) creates duplicate
swap and apple boot partitions when Guided-Resize is chosen in the
partitioning scheme. I would expect it to use the existing swap and
  Apple Boot partitions.
