It looks like that you have overwhelmed the I/O capabilities of your usb
stick, which brings the system in near freezing states.

This happens when you do to much tasks in parallel and it is easy to
archive this on a usb device(have just tested this).


So, I tend to say that your problem is not so much software dependend. It is a hardware bottleneck.

  1) Lubuntu 12.10 Alpha3 i386 (Live USB stick persistent)
  2) ubiquity 2.11.18
  3) I expected to finish watching the video and other task I had started.
  4) I was moving the mouse to adjust the panel volume while trying to watch a video online when the computer locked up ending user input.
