[Bug 840512] Re: Files missing from package linux-headers-3.0.0.9

I have some ideas where this problem might be, but it would really help
if I could have installer logs from an installation that has left out
the files in question. Could you please attach
/var/log/installer/syslog from such an installation?

Title:
  Files missing from package linux-headers-3.0.0.9

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
After installing Ubuntu / Lubuntu 11.10 Beta 1 from Ubiquity /
Alternative methods, the following files are missing:

  /usr/src/linux-headers-3.0.0.9/KBuild
  /usr/src/linux-headers-3.0.0.9/KConfig
  /usr/src/linux-headers-3.0.0.9/Makefile

Even though the linux-header* packages are installed. As a result, any
compilation of kernel module projects would fail.

The only workaround I have so far:

  sudo apt-get remove linux-headers-3.0.0.9
  sudo apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r`

NB: this bug has appeared and disappeared momentarily around Alpha 3,
and has now come back to haunt us
