I have found out that if I turn off "Check for updates ... Daily" and
save it, then restart the app and turn it back on, then updates are
checked for dailing once again.

Bug description:
  In Software Sources, I have checked "Check for updates ... Daily" and
  "download updates in the background;" however, it does not check for
  updates.  If I manually check for updates, it does not download the
  updates in the background.

  I have another Ubuntu system with the same settings, and it works
  properly as expected.
