You can attach files one at a time in later comments; you don't have to
attach them all in the initial form submission.

The syslog shows:

... and it all goes downhill from there.

In short, this means that there's been a problem reading from the CD.
This is generally due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, rather than
being an installer bug as such. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to
burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, or to clean the CD/DVD drive lens
(cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers).

Title:
  Error terminates install process

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

I had booted from a 10.10 i386 desktop disk that I downloaded and
  burned.

After about half an hour or more installing, the installer popped up
an error and told me to report a bug. I tried logging in to launchpad
from the FireFox provided on the install disk but that crashed each
time I tried to log in (firefox crash info sent to firefox). Unable to
log the bug from there, I copied the log files to report the bug from
  a stable machine. See attached.

After collecting the required bug report info, I tried closing the
installer's popup bug window. It wouldn't close. I tried the close
button on the form, the X in the corner, and the system menu Close.
  None worked.

(Why won't this form let me add both attachments as individual files?
  Had to zip them.)
