  update-manager crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

Bug description:
  Downloaded ISO image "precise-alternate-amd64.iso" to check out the
  beta. Attempted to grab updates and update-manager said there was a
  release upgrade. Crashes whenever I try to upgrade.
