Title:
Kernel crash with invalid opcode in locks.c

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I've hit this twice now since upgrading to Oneiric. Here's the snippet
  from syslog:

  Oct 20 17:01:43 bighouse1 kernel: [13887.632830] ------------[ cut here ]------------
  Oct 20 17:01:43 bighouse1 kernel: [13887.632843] kernel BUG at /build/buildd/linux-3.0.0/fs/locks.c:2072!
  Oct 20 17:01:43 bighouse1 kernel: [13887.632850] invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] SMP

  Here's my version info:

  Oct 20 17:29:59 bighouse1 kernel: [ 0.000000] Linux version
3.0.0-12-generic (buildd at crested) (gcc version 4.6.1 (Ubuntu/Linaro
  4.6.1-9ubuntu3) ) #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:56:25 UTC 2011 (Ubuntu
  3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4)

The dump on the screen indicated that the error occurred while trying
to release a file lock inside nfsd. This machine is an nfs server, and
another machine had just initiated a backup, so there would have been
a lot of file IO starting up. But I can't find that info in any log
  file.
