Title:
  can't create new logical partition

Status in “parted” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: parted

During installation of intrepid (text mode) I left some free space at the end of my 4th extended partition. Afterwards, I liked to create a new partition in the free space inside the logical partition.
Parted refused to do that with the error message "partition borders overlap". But, there was - inside the logical partition - no overlap on neither side of the partition to be created with the existing ones.
Fortunately, cfdisk did it at once.
  parted:
    Installiert: 1.8.8.git.2008.03.24-7ubuntu7
  ubuntu 8.10
