It'd be helpful to know which release of Ubuntu you were testing and
which specific daily image you were using.  Additionally, knowing if you
were installing on hardware or in a virtual machine would help too.
Reporting a bug via ubuntu-bug ubiquity would have gathered this
information for you automatically.

  Install completes successfully. Restart.

  Never asks to remove installation medium and waits.

  Reset/hard reboot required to proceed.
